MY wife and I were, recently, involved in an accident on the A30 (near Okehampton) on April 19, a pheasant versus my Saab — both write offs!
We were fortunate that no other vehicles or persons were involved. However, three following cars pulled on to the hard shoulder behind us and literally ran from their vehicles to assist us.
One young man was immediately consoling my distraught wife, another assisting myself and the third was phoning the police and ambulance.
A cold evening, these three young men, all in short sleeves, remained with us until the services arrived.
I failed to get out of the ambulance before the boys drove off, so I was unable to thank them for standing in the cold for so long and looking after us. Take notice, ambulance and boys were all wonderful!
People knock the youth of today but I wish to praise and thank the young men of today and I hope that, somehow, acknowledgement can be registered in your good paper.
