A 28-YEAR-old farmer?s son from Exbourne has been made chairman of Devon Young Farmers? Club for 2004.
Will Dunn, a former Okehampton College student, works on his parents? dairy farm and runs a milk processing and delivery business with his brother, Richard.
Will said he was looking forward to his year of office with the YFC, a club he has been a member of for the last 12 years.
?What we really want to do this year is boost the club as best we can. The YFC hold a number of dances and events throughout the year, there?s a big programme there and we want to promote them as much as we can,? said Will.
?There?s nothing like the YFC. It?s run entirely by young people themselves; they make their own decisions and the things we do can really give you confidence.
?For example, we do public speaking events, which might seem a bit outdated, but that can really help people a lot. There are masses of things we do that people can get involved with.?
Will said he was looking forward to getting out and meeting more members of the county YFC during his term of office ? in between working on his developing milk business with his brother.
?We all work on the farm, but Richard and I do the processing. We pasteurise the milk, bottle it and deliver to around a 20-mile radius.
?It?s going really well, it?s flying at the moment, it just keeps growing and growing.?
Will aims to see the YFC flourish and grow in the same fashion.
