THERE'S an opportunity to explore the world of lichens with lichenologist Dr David Hill next week, when his examines the walls of the National Trust's Cotehele House and the gravestones in Calstock Churchyard on Tuesday, March 31, from 10.30am to 4pm.
Lichens are an important indicator of air quality — the varying colours of lichens can also help to date historic buildings.
This is a free event, including lunch, and has been made possible by the Helping Hands for Heritage project (Tamar Valley AONB).
Booking is essential. Please contact the Tamar Valley AONB team to secure your place or for more information on 01822 835030.
