THE 'Those Were The Days' photograph in last week's Times, showing rabbit trapper Burt Piper, prompted interest from readers.

The drawing pictured right by the late Dr A Oddie, is of the cottage at Week Moor Cross.

It was the house where Burt Piper lived and the birthplace of Sam Harris and Dennis Bater, who supplied the photograph.

It sits in the area surrounded by the beautiful land, fields and villages that formed the basis for the books, 'War Horse' and 'Private Peaceful' and many others written by Michael Morpurgo.

It is also included  in Dennis Bater's book 'Farm Worker's son to Mayor'.
