THE magical kingdom of Narnia was reborn in Bere Alston for a children?s craft day. Members of Bere Alston United Church decorated the church interior to recreate the winter scene, with icicles, snowflakes, lights, trees, waterfall, mountain and castle and even a wardrobe hung with clothes to enter the church by. Approximately 60 children attended the special morning event on Saturday, December 17. They were divided into five groups based on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe book and film for a variety of activities, The children also made a fur collage of the lion Aslan from the original story, and joined in drama and Christmas songs, as well as hearing part of the book. The Narnia theme continued the following day with a joint service with local Anglicans at the church. Some members of the two local Church of England churches assisted at the craft day. l Pictured with the collage of Aslan are Emily Nunn, Bethany Holmes, Holly Dunn, Amy Willcocks and Jenny Wright.
