WOODLAND enthusiasts are being invited to an evening talk by writer, woodsman and presenter of the BBC4 series 'Tales from the Wild Wood', Rob Penn, to hear his experience of helping to preserve woodland.
Hosting the evening, Rob will discuss helping to bring part of an abandoned woodland in the Black Mountains back to life and how engagement between local communities and landowners could help conserve and enhance these valuable assets.
The evening will provide an opportunity to hear about Rob's experiences, ask any burning questions and meet other like-minded local woodland enthusiasts.
The talk, arranged jointly by Tamar Valley AONB and the Tamar Community Trust, will be held at the Tamar Valley Centre on Saturday, February 1 at 7pm.
Places are limited so booking is essential.
To book a place, contact the AONB office on 01822 835030 or email [email protected]">[email protected]
The following morning (Sunday, February 2) there will also be an opportunity to visit Cleave Woods at Weir Quay with Rob, which is being brought back under management, from 11am to 2pm.
Participants will be able to learn more about the scheme for 'Community Supported Woodlands'.
If weather permits, there will be an opportunity to try out some practical work in the wood. Again, places are limited, so booking is essential.
