CUBS had great fun when they participated in games and sampled food from a variety of countries as they ?toured? Europe at their international evening.

Held at the Coronation Hall, Mary Tavy, cubs were able to sample the delights of the different countries then take part in local activities.

A truly ?International market place? sprung up as the smells from food tempted the cubs to have a go.

Starting in Scotland, cabers of all sizes were much in evidence. Shortbread nibbles then saw them off as they crossed the channel for a whistle-stop tour of the Continent.

Countries visited included: Switzerland where the famous fondue was very popular; also, a game involving Swiss chocolate made it a truly tasty country to visit.

Greece gave them the intricacies of the ancients as they tried to re-assemble a fragmented mosaic. This was followed by moussaka and Greek yoghurt.

From Norway came a delicious stew and the tradition of Norwegian knitwear was tried by all.

In La Belle France they ate pate and brie and played petanque. Holland saw them cheese rolling and sampling different Dutch cheeses.

Italy kept everybody busy as they made the always popular pizza.

The final country to explore was Finland where traditional Vispi Purro saw them off for a day?s activities across the fiords involving fishing and reindeer hunting before returning for hot suomi laatikko.
