IT'S ALL happening in Simmons Park on August 27 — The First Aid Music Day is ready to get you rocking with a trio of original 1960s groups — The Fortunes, Marmalade and The Swinging Blue Jeans.
If that is not enough, farmers' favourite The Wurzels are taking a break from their university tour to perform a selection of songs including 'Combine Harvester' and 'I am a Cider Drinker' and the London Community Gospel Choir are popping in for an audience participation sing-a-long.
As previously publicised, the evening event will be a classical spectacular with the English Symphony Orchestra, culminating in a fireworks display to light up the night sky.
There will be entertainment throughout the day in the town, including a karaoke and a town crier competition in Red Lion Yard and music in the pubs.
The theme of the daytime activities will be 'the sixties' and it is hoped as many businesses as possible will open for a few hours and participate with the fun by playing 60s music and dressing up for the occasion.
