BUSINESS tycoon Peter de Savary has added a stunning 500-year-old thatched pub to his portfolio.

The entrepreneur has bought the Grade ll listed Sandy Park Inn at Chagford through licensed property agents Bettesworths.

Sandy Park Inn stands in just over half an acre of glorious surroundings with views overlooking the Teign Gorge to the Upper Teign where Mr de Savary owns the fishing rights.

The thatched inn has been run for the past five and a half years by Paul and Marilyn Codlin who have moved to take on another business challenge.

Mr de Savary owns Bovey Castle and also the White Hart Hotel at Moretonhampstead.
