WE would like to thank those businesses that supported the local Girl Guide 2014 Christmas Postal service. Lakes Pharmacy, Pillars, Superdrug, Tavistock Launderette, Mainly Stationery, Dartmoor Photographic, Cards for Good Causes and Spar in Ford Street all gave their support by selling stamps and giving space for a special postbox in the lead up to Christmas; we are very grateful to them. We received a number of cards with a name but no address or an incomplete address. We also had one card posted for New Zealand and three out of county and a number to outlying areas around the town. We do our best to try and find the correct postal address by using the internet and trying to match with other cards in the same estate but are not always successful. All out of area cards we post using second class stamps which come out of the raised funds.  Although numbers were down this year, members of Girlguiding delivered 5,886 cards across 65 delivery rounds.
