WELL done Alan King and the Arts Festival Committee!
A week of arts and entertainment that really helped lift the profile of Okehampton. Each event, from the classical to the jazz to the visual arts were of high, professional standard. It's very rare we get the opportunity to see an artist of the calibre of Georgie Fame in our own town and the packed hall proved his popularity and I know people came from a wide area to be there.
It was good to see the weather smile on Okehampton at last — and allowed so many people to enjoy the Party in the Park.
I know you all deserve a well earned break but please, start the planning of next year's festival soon and I hope you keep up the standards you have set yourselves. From the publicity to the performances — it was a week Okehampton should be proud of.
