MANY thanks to the many hundreds of you that kindly placed a donation in my collecting box. I stood outside Martin's in Fore Street, Okehampton, all day on Friday November 20 collecting for Children in Need.
We collected a total of £227. I also entered a competition on Exeter FM in which I won £100 for a charity of my choice which will go to the same good cause.
My wife also auctioned off one of her fabulous chocolate cakes which raised a further £32. The winner was Evan Reece who is going to donate the cake for a raffle, the tickets of which will be on sale in the White Hart from Sunday December 6 at 50p each. The winning ticket will be drawn at random on Monday December 14. The proceeds from this will also be added to the total.
A grand total is standing at present at £359. I would also like to thank the staff of the White Hart for putting up with me all day and a special thanks to Mark and Pat who counted and bagged up all of the money while I could spend time on getting those all important pennies in the box.
