TWO long distance runners have thanked everyone who sponsored them so generously in their recent London Marathon attempt. Ann Woodhouse, of Gunnislake, and running partner Steve John tackled the 26-mile route to raise funds for the Anthony Nolan Trust and Devon Air Ambulance. To date they have raised around £2,000. Bere Alston resident Samantha Grylls was successful in completing the London Marathon in 4 hours and 27 minutes. Samantha is a member of Bere Alston Trekkers (BATS) and ran in aid of a local appeal to fund a multi terrain wheelchair for the Larkin family.
