TAMAR Valley Thistles U13s manager Pete Soanes said thank you to Lamerton Village last Thursday when he made a double presentation of food hampers to two pensioners.
Mr Soanes said Lamerton village and parish came to the team's rescue and supported their need for more pitches and areas for children and youth alike to use.
'We were sharing pitches at Crowndale but pitches can only take so much. So we have now adopted Lamerton as our home pitch, which is nice as we have many Thistle boys and girls in the village.
'In return, the boys wanted to say a big thank you, so decided to bring along tins and make up a couple of hampers to present to two villagers.'
The squad this week is conducting a 12-hour sponsored five-a-side in aid of supporting the Molly Owen Centre in Tavistock.
