MAY I say a big, big thank you on behalf of the Lions Club of Tavistock to all those who made this year?s Carnival Week the best on record. Thank you to all those who took part in the wonderful procession on Saturday which would not have been possible without the co-operation and support of Superwinch, Lawsons, Langdon Transport, Dave Pethick HTS Ltd, R P and S Heyward, Bassetts of Tavistock, Mike Bradley of West Country Wedding Cars, S J Backwell, John Collacott and all the advertisers and event sponsors. Last but not least a very big thank you to all the public. You were so generous in filling our buckets that this year?s street collection was the best ever, which means our local charities and the main charities of this year?s Carnival Week, the RNLI and NSPCC, will all benefit greatly. A special thank you to our Carnival Princess Charlotte and her attendants Emily and Katie who did us proud on the day by looking so lovely. Many thanks to everyone. Lions President Lyn Roberts ON behalf of Tavistock Community Primary School and the Home School Association, we would like to thank the Lions Club for putting on such a wonderful carnival and to congratulate all the other participants who made it such a colourful event. We really want to thank all the parents, staff and particularly the children who worked so hard to build and take part in our own fabulous float. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone, especially the local businesses and organisations, for their support for our ?Green? Summer Fayre on June 17. This was a highly successful event and we have raised over £3,000. Well done to all those involved. Jo Bourton, Chair, Home School Ass Joe Flynn, Headteacher Tavistock Community Primary School I JUST wanted to congratulate the Lions Club and all the people that put time and effort into the carnival to make it a very enjoyable event, apart from one thing that totally ruined it for my children and me. We were soaked by being sprayed with water by immature adults that I know for a fact were told by the Lions not to spray anything or anyone. K Ellis 186 Tamar Avenue Greenlands
