THE Whitchurch and Sampford Spiney Sheep Dog Trials held their 30th annual trials at Birchy Farm recently by kind permission of Mr and Mrs T Cox.
It was a delight to watch the magic of man working with dog to reach their ultimate aim of moving a flock of sheep through a course and successfully into an enclosure using whistles and a few audible commands. It shows great teamwork and understanding.
There were 55 dogs entered, working from 8.30am to 4pm, running over three different courses. The judge this year was Norman Dalgarno from Tregony, Cornwall. The results appeared in last week?s Times.
