?KNOW Your Numbers Week? will be taking place at Tavistock?s Meadowlands Leisure Pool between Monday, September 12 and Sunday September 18. The Blood Pressure Association, has organised its fourth annual national blood pressure testing week, to drive home the importance of every adult knowing their blood pressure, and advice on how to control it. Current statistics show that high blood pressure is a major factor in causing strokes and heart attacks, but that it can be easily controlled through making small changes to lifestyle and diet. Kevin Wiltshire, from Meadowlands said: ?Blood pressure is one of the basic ways of measuring the state of our health. ?Essentially, it?s a measure of the pressure on the artery walls as the blood flows through the body. And one of the best ways of lowering blood pressure and heart rates is with regular exercise?.
