YELVERTON Tennis Club celebrated their 20th birthday with a party in Yelverton War Memorial Hall.

Chairman John Marshall welcomed guests, particularly those who had been founder members of the club and had returned to Yelverton especially for the party.

John commented on how the club had developed over the last 20 years from two courts and a garden shed to three courts and a modern clubhouse with all the facilities for players.

He outlined plans for floodlighting two of the courts before asking everyone to raise their glasses to the founder members of the club.

A raffle raised money for club funds and thanks went to local businesses who donated prizes. Thanks also went to the sub-committee who organised the event, particularly Wendy Bollingbroke who co-ordinated a very successful evening.
