A day touring and dancing around local Dartmoor pubs was how Dartmoor Border Morris dancers celebrated their tenth anniversary.
The day began with a performance outside the High Moorland Visitors' Centre at Princetown, followed by a lunchtime dance at the East Dart at Postbridge and further performances at the Burrator Inn and the Royal Oak at Meavy.
A Morris guard of honour was then provided for landlords Chris and Ruth, of the Who'd Have Thought It at Milton Combe, on their return from their wedding ceremony at Wembury, and their guests were entertained with yet more dancing and music.
The day concluded with a meal at the Plume of Feathers in Princetown, with further song and dance.
The group also recently attended Widecombe Fair, as the guests of their sponsors Dartmoor Brewery, to entertain the public.
The Dartmoor Border Morris group is available to book for all types of events and celebrations. The group is also keen to welcome anyone who might like to join them, either to dance or to play an instrument.
Their practice season begins on Wednesday October 19 at Meavy Village Hall at 8pm and anyone who goes along to give it a try on that date will be welcome.
Dartmoor Border Morris is a family group with dancers and musicians of both sexes and is keen to attract new members of all ages.
Anyone who would like to give Morris dancing a try can just go along to the practice or contact Mark on 01752 299700 or Sue on 01822 859220.
