Bude U12s 7 Okehampton U12s 49 A FROSTY start in Okehampton turned into a pleasant sunny morning by the sea at Bude for the squad as a bright day brought the best out of them. Taking the kick off on a pitch which was on the compact side allowed Okehampton to attack Bude's try line quickly. Tom Wilkins crossed the line for the first try. A spirited contest developed between the opposing forwards as the game swung up and down the pitch. Bude equalised with a good try from an up and over kick but this provoked Okehampton and by the end of the first half tries had been scored by Dean Folland, Matt Moyes and Luke Vincent. The second half saw Okehampton maintaining pressure on their opponents with the ball moving all over the field. The Bude defence stood up to this assault with good tackling and mounted the occasional attack which was held off by the defensive skills of Okehampton, including a try saving tackle by Folland. By the final whistle Tom Wilkins, Folland and Jordan Cornthwaite had crossed the line and all the tries had been converted by Liam Wilkins.
