MEAVY Lane and Gratton Lane in Yelverton will be closed for the next four weeks to heavy goods vehicles in excess of 18 tonnes, due to a new project to reduce traffic speed and promote pedestrian safety in the narrow lane.

A diversion will be in operation via Plympton for these vehicles.

The lane will be closed to all traffic for two weeks from March 24. between the A386 and Cadover Bridge. During this period, a diversion will be in operation via Clearbrook and Hoo Meavy.

And the Dousland to Walkhampton Road at Sharpitor Row will be closed to traffic for three weeks this month, to allow water main rehabilitation works to take place.

The road will be closed between Burrator Road and Merrivale View Road from Monday March 24. The alternative route will be from Dousland to Woodmans Corner and Walkhampton and vice versa.

Access to properties in both these locations will be maintained as far as possible ? any problems should be reported to the local service officer at Okehampton on 01837 52773.
