A PAIR of teenage cyclists finished their Land?s End to John O?Groats ride recently, raising £2,000 for charity. Antony Butcher and Jamie Osbourne, both from Tavistock, completed the ride for the Dartmoor Rescue Group and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The ride took the pair 12 and a half days, just under 100 miles per day, which was quicker than they expected. The journey was organised by Jamie, Antony and Antony?s father, who came along to run a support vehicle. The pair spent most nights in a camper van on campsites, with the occasional night in bed and breakfast. Antony said ?Although the final day was over by 11am, it was one of the hardest. Once we passed a couple of monster hills a thick mist descended, which lasted for the rest of the day.? The pair have not decided if they will do another ride, but have not ruled out the possibility.
