A WEST Devon pub was filled to capacity for a recent charity quiz night.

The Leaping Salmon Inn at Horrabridge held the event in aid of the Children's Hospice South West. Landlord Shaun McDermott acted as a humorous and entertaining quiz-master for the evening.

The winners were the Two Short Planks team — they had previously been part of the Four Short Planks team, which won the Children's Hospice South West's Tavistock Trivia Trophy at a quiz held in February.

Tavistock Friends Group of Children's Hospice South West expressed thanks to all who helped on the evening, especially to Shaun and his staff.

The event raised £279 towards the running costs of the charity's three hospices.

Open days are being held at Little Harbour, the charity's hospice in St Austell.

The tours are being held on Monday September 3, Monday October 1, Monday November 5 and Monday December 3.
