WE would like to express our sincere thanks to Christine Marsh and her team for the inspiration and hard work which resulted in the Jazz On Line evening.
The event, as far as Dartmoor Railway is concerned, was a great success and we hope that our guests enjoyed the evening.
The evening was a departure from the
normal operation carried out by our railway and has proved to customers and Dartmoor Railway personnel that this kind of event can be successful.
We would also like to thank all of the Dartmoor Railway team, some of whom went well beyond the call of duty to make this evening work as well as carrying out their routine duties.
We feel that this sort of team effort shows what can be achieved in the Okehampton area making use of the resources and talents we have available to help raise the profile of the team and contribute to the local economy.
Once again thank you all very much.

THANK you for the article on the jazz evening at the Okehampton Railway Station. I would just like to mention my thanks to my friend, Marguerita Fisher, whose idea this was.
She woke up one morning and phoned me and said: 'I have this plan, what do you think?' It went from there.
Without her help with the food and setting up of the platform the evening would not have been the success it was. I was but one of the many cogs in the wheel.
It was a wonderful venue and helped put our station on the map. Thanks to everyone involved.
Christine Marsh
Mayor of Okehampton
