Okehampton ladies seconds 3

Plym Valley ladies thirds 0

PLYM Valley piled on the pressure from the start but Oke were strong in defence with solid, cunning full backs Nettie Collett and Jo Drake snuffing out Plym Valley's attacking moves.

Oke grew in confidence gelling well as a team. Midfield players Sophie Whiteley and Brieze Reed worked tirelessly, winning any lose ball and creating attacking chances.  The Oke forwards capitalised on this positive play winning a penalty corner which Eve Colton converted into a goal.

Oke continued to pressurise the Plym Valley defence with Sophie Cunnington  cleverly running off the ball to create space for the Oke forwards to continue their attack.  Amanda Sim utilised this space by dribbling the ball into the Plym Valley circle crossing it in front of the goal for Annette Goswell to pop into the back of the net.

The second half saw Plym Valley determined to get back into the game.  The Oke team pulled together with halves Nat Dennis and Katy Graves marking their wings tightly stopping the wide Plym Valley attack.

Okehampton sensibly kept possession of the ball, supporting each other and providing passing options for their players.  Their astute tactical play was rewarded when they were awarded a penalty corner.

Eve Colton's strong strike was deflected into the net by Amanda Sim for Oke's final goal. Oke's player of the match was Sophie Whiteley.
