IT is a waste of time thinking of planting more trees in Okehampton unless young people can be taught how to care for them.
At the edge of Simmons Park is a row of beautiful young trees, all dead or dying, because the bark has been ripped off. If only parents and teachers could get children interested in nature and looking after living things, perhaps this kind of vandalism would cease.
