PARENT Mike Hunting celebrated his return from his successful sponsored cycle ride in aid of the Milton Abbot School peace window by joining pupils for a tea party.

The 550-mile ride, visiting all the other peace windows in the country stretching from St Austell in Cornwall to East Molesey in Surrey, started on April 28 and ended on May 2 at the school.

The trip included a visit to Gunnislake, the home of the Flight of the Phoenix World Peace 2000 project responsible for the promotion of the peace window. Candles for peace were lit at each point.

The ride raised more than £860 towards the remaining £1000 needed for the window.

A large Raku swan donated by Jenny Hayle has also been raffled to raise money, meaning the target is now within reach.
