MARY Tavy took a somewhat depleted squad to Plymouth for this quarter final tie after losing five regulars to other commitments and faced an uphill task against a decent Devon side.

Opting to play with the wind advantage Tavy started well but failed to make any real impression on the opposing goal. It took a lucky bobble in off the post to break the deadlock which was all the inspiration Queen?s needed, further goals were added which included one wind swept effort straight from a corner and Tavy were out of the game. Late on a consolation was pulled back by Wiggy who was making his first appearance for quite some time along with several others.
