THERE’S a chance to join the cast of a new adaptation of one of Britain’s most-loved movies, being staged in Tavistock.

The Railway Children, the classic tale of three Edwardian children, their lost father and a steam railway, will be put on by Tavonians Theatre Company in November.

Dianne Ffitch, who will be directing the play, said: ‘The story appeals to such a wide audience. We all grew up with the book and the 1970s film version starring Jenny Agutter and Dinah Sheridan. Who can forget the heartfelt words “Daddy, my Daddy”? Even though we know it’s coming, it still brings a joyful tear to the eye.’

Auditions for cast and backstage crew are being held at 5pm on Sunday, June 12 at Mary Tavy Coronation Hall.
