A WEST Devon theatre company is holding a social event this evening (Thursday) to take a look back over previous performances and to give visitors an insight into its next production.
It follows high praise from the National Operatic and Dramatic Association for the Tavonian Theatre Company's recent performances of 'A Caper through Shakespeare' at Buckland Abbey.
A review from a representative of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association was very complimentary, including comments such as 'I cannot praise the performers highly enough' and 'This was truly a wonderful and professional production and I thoroughly enjoyed it'.
The Tavonians Theatre Company is inviting everyone, whether members of the company or anyone else interested, to attend this evening's event at the Guide Hall in Tavistock, where there will be an opportunity to see a video of parts of 'A Caper Through Shakespeare' and to hear more about the upcoming production.
The event starts at 7.30pm and visitors are welcome to bring drinks and nibbles.
The Tavonians are planning a Dickens production as part of Charles Dickens' bi-centenary year. The director will be Graham Dimmock, who directed the Hound of the Bakervilles for the Tavonians a few years ago.
Chair of the Tavonians Ali Fife said: 'We're delighted to be working with Graham again and we can be sure he will create an exciting production, which will give great enjoyment to the cast and audiences alike.'
Auditions will take place during August ready for rehearsals to start in early September.
Other plans include further Murder Mystery performances, following the sell-out event at the Terrace Restaurant earlier in the year, and a number of recordings of radio plays which will be available as podcasts.
