Families affected by MD, together with supporters and fundraisers, enjoyed time chatting together, playing games and sharing a tasty ‘pasty and pudding’ tea.
The party also provided an opportunity to share the national award which was presented to the branch last autumn by the new president of Muscular Dystrophy UK, Gabby Logan, who has recently taken over the role from Sue Barker.
The President’s Community Award recognises the Tavistock branch’s efforts and achievement in running its annual respite holiday for young people with MD for over 40 years. During that time, many people from the town and wider area have been involved in making this possible and the branch expressed its thanks to everyone who has helped and contributed over the years.
Planning is now well under way for this year’s Tavistock branch MD holiday.
