THIS was a goal fest for Tavistock this week with Lamb opening the scoring with a great solo effort, taking the ball into the D herself and rifling the ball into the net from an acute angle. Shortly afterwards Gaspar received a great cross ball and turned it easily into the net. The opposition forced some penalty corners but the home defence held but firm and cleared the ball away. White fed the ball through to the superb Lamb, who sped down the right crossed the ball in to a waiting Gaspar who slipped it past the goalie.
The second half was more fruitful for the home side. Armstrong opened the scoring with a superb strike on goal.
The team were working the ball around the pitch and the fifth goal was swiftly followed by another from Armstrong.
The opposition were still working hard and Mills-Hicks in goal had some saves to make.
McClumpha was on the score sheet next for Tavistock. The home side had been awarded numerous penalty corners and Armstrong got her third. Armstrong received the ball at the top of the 'D' and a straight strike evaded the defenders and keeper. The home side kept up the great play. Colston and Cuckston distributed the ball well and Olive created chances down the left. Evans cut out many of the opposition's attacks. Gaspar got the next goal. A crossed ball got the merest of touches on her stick right in front of the goal and the goalie was unable to stop it. The final goal fell to Gaspar. White passed the ball to Gaspar who gave the goalie no chance to save it.
