TAVISTOCK RFC U7s travelled to sunny Ivybridge for the Devon RFU tag festival. The glorious weather made for a great backdrop to some great tag rugby.

Fired up by recent performances Tavistock  started the day with a well fought win 15-10 against  Brixham. All three tries coming from James White mainly due to his insightful support work and sheer pace. Some excellent defensive work by the full backs Harry Richardson  and Louis Peake helped keep Brixham's replies down to two.

Salcombe RFC U7s  20

A quick flourish by Salcombe caught Tavistock off guard and racked up an early lead. However, Tavistock pulling themselves back into the game. Both teams ran in four tries apiece to end the game in a well matched draw.

Once  again fearless runs from centres Tavistock's Jack Dashper, Thomas Gardener  and a particularly piercing run from William Chapman enabled James White, Harry Edwards (2) and Louis Peake to score.

Exeter Saracens RFC U7s 5

A well disciplined and wide defence by the Tavistock team thwarted Saracens nippy attack time and time again.This, coupled with the strength of Tavistock's support play by centres Lois Thornton, Kieran Parkhouse and Harry Edwards  lead to a 10-5 victory. Tries coming from Noah Berridge and Harry Richardson.

Newton Abbot RFC U7s 25

Against a swift and skilful Newton Abbot Tavistock fought hard to make up an early deficit but time ran out in the end. Tavistock tries came from LoisThornton(2) and James White (1).

Weston Super Mare Hornets RFC U7s 30

FOR their last match of the season Tavistock U7s played host to the touring side.

A quick pass from Louis Peake gave James White a gift of an opener. This was quickly followed by a scorching run almost the full length of the pitch by Noah Berridge for the second. The Hornets rallied with two tries of their own but James White replied straight from a restart. The first half scoreline was completed by another well worked team effort finished by full back Harry Richardson.

The second half was a little more even with some searching runs into Hornets territory by centres Joe Inman, Kieran Parkhouse and Kiah Allen leading to two more tries by James White,another for Harry Richardson and one for Louis Peake.

THE Hornets attack made some powerful runs only to be thwarted time and time again by a determined Tavistock defence. Seamus Cornelius, Lois Thornton, Thomas Gardener and Jack Baker playing centre gave Tavistock a solid  base to launch tries for Noah Berridge and Harry Edwards ( 4).

The second half saw the Hornets rallying from the 25 - 10 half time score to bravely fight back to finish 40- 20.Second half tries came  from Noah Berridge and Edward Chapman  on his debut squeezing his way through to the corner finishing the game in style for Tavistock.
