The Tavistock branch of Oakhouse Foods, a ready meal delivery service, has been closed but the company insists the service for the town will remain unaffected.

Many elderly people in the town and surrounding areas rely on the company after the demise of the community care provision of the local Meals on Wheels service.

A spokesperson for Oakhouse Foods said the Tavistock office was forced to close as it was not making enough money but people in Tavistock would be unaffected by the change as the service would continue to run from its Exeter office.
