Cornwall and Devon League Wadebridge Camels 22 Tavistock 10 TAVISTOCK took on second placed Wadebridge on Saturday on the back of a two week lay off due to the recent bad weather and suffered from a lack of match practice as Wadebridge ran in three tries and effectively sealed the game by half time. The Camels pack paved the way for the victory scoring two tries from the catch and drive at the lineout. A third try from number eight Gary Gynn, who ran in from 30 metres, together with a conversion from Jamie Kneale gave Wadebridge a 17 point lead as half time approached. Tavistock finally got some sustained possession and were rewarded with three points from the boot of Josh Sutton. The away side thought they had closed the gap even further but a pass to number eight, Jake Phillips, that put him clear was called forward by the referee. Tavistock started brightly in the second half and after kicking deep into Wadebridge territory they recycled the ball quickly for Lawrence Evans to find a gap and score by the posts. Sutton converted the try. The second half was a much more even affair but Wadebridge eventually sealed the win with a try in the closing minutes from winger Alisdair McClenan. l On Saturday Tavistock entertain St Austell at Sandy Park in the Cornwall and Devon League game, kick off 2.30pm.
