South West one Tavistock A 3 PGSOB B 3 A HARD earned point but a disappointing result for the Tavistock men, when they appeared to be cruising at 3-1. The game started as an end to end contest with chances for both sides to go ahead. Plymouth Grammar School Old Boys? started quite strongly and scored after about 15 minutes with a set piece goal. Tavistock responded well by unleashing the fire power of Phil Edwards, who hammered a ball into the net from a short corner. Half time saw the game still level but with Tavistock knowing that if they played to their strengths the points were there for the taking. Pressure mounted on the visitors? goal and with nerves rattling, Heard fired in Tavistock?s second. The home side continued to apply pressure and with the flow of the game going in both directions, Tavistock stole another one from the deft handling of Luke Daniells. Tavistock seemed to be cruising and in full control but another set piece saw PGSOB gain one back and shortly after equalised through much the same approach. Tavistock knew they deserved the points and chased the win for all it was worth but thanks to the skills of both of the keepers the points were shared.
