Chagford v Seaton
46 Overs
THIS game was dominated by two century partnerships. Batting first, Chagford were in trouble at 74 for five but Colin Mortimore and Andrew Paterson put on 103 for the sixth wicket before Paterson was stumped for a half-century.
Mortimore continued in attacking form to finish with 75 not out to enable Chagford to score 225 for five in their allotted overs.
Ben Copp for Seaton produced an outstanding performance to finish with five wickets for 50 in his 13 overs with three bowled and two lbw.
In reply Seaton lost Pritchard and Warner for six and four respectively, and at the half-way stage were 80 for three.
But the arrival at the wicket of Sean Perry to join Matt Hewer changed the complexion of the game.
Perry laid into the Chagford attack to lash 75 not out in 49 balls adding an unbroken fourth wickets stand of 117 to win the game on 226 for three with ten balls.
It was a salutary lesson to the Chagford side. While the Seaton batting was of the highest standard the Chagford bowlers bowled 31 wides, a contributory factor in their downfall. Seaton won by seven wickets.
Seaton 18 points. Chagford six points.
