AFTER coming runner-up in her last competition, aspiring model Tania Coker is now competing to be in the finals of another contest.

Tania (left), 20, from Yelverton, was runner-up in the competition to be in the Grid Girls Calendar with the help of Times readers, and now needs their help again to vote her into the final of the Plymouth Calendar Girls Competition.

Tania is one of 170 hopefuls who has made it to the semi-finals of the competition, which searches for 12 women, aged 18 to 35, to appear in a lingerie and swimsuit calendar, sold to raise money for St Luke's Hospice.

Tania said: 'This is the first time I have entered the Plymouth Calendar Girls competition. I entered because I think it will be a great experience to meet new people and further my career in modelling, as well as a great opportunity to raise money for St Luke's Hospice.'

The calendar is now in its fifth year, and many of the winners go on to have full-time modelling careers.

Tania works part-time at Betfred in Tavistock, while studying for a degree in sports therapy at UCP Marjon in Plymouth, but aspires to a career in modelling.

She said: 'I've entered other competitions such as Max Power and Miss Great Britain, which I am still waiting to hear about, and I have a photo shoot with Scott Ninness in Majorca in August organised by the Kerri Parker Academy, which I can't wait for.'

From the semi-finalists, 70 women who receive the most text votes will be put through to the final.

Tania said: 'To reach the finals would be a great opportunity to raise money for a fantastic charity and hopefully give me the opportunity to begin a career in modelling.'
