‘WHAT talented youngsters’, ‘What a great sound’, ‘When can they come back?’ — these were just some of the comments heard when the United Reformed Church in Russell Street, Tavistock hosted a lively and varied concert in April by JDACC Brass.
The name comes from the initials of the core group who are all members of the same family from Launceston. However on this occasion they were joined by members of the Quick family who added a tuba, percussion and an additional cornet to the tenor horn, flugelhorn, euphonium, E flat bass, cornet and trombone of the family group.
Brass may relate to the principal instruments played but there were also contributions on the keyboard and sung items. The relaxed atmosphere was enhanced by a gentle humour and a element of surprise as they produced four coloured trombones!
Profits from the evening contributed towards the recently renewed roof at the URC.
