'IT went well and she doesn't need a wig!' — words of relief from Jayne Bray of His and Hers Hair Salon in Okehampton, after she performed a blindfolded hair cut on one of her regular clients.
Jayne, who has been a hairdresser for 30 years, 25 of those years at His and Hers, undertook the wash, cut and blow-dry on her brave volunteer Hilda Mears, all in aid of Children's Hospice South West.
Jayne said: 'I decided I wanted to do something to raise money for CHSW as one of my clients is a fundraiser for the charity. I thought to myself "what could I do?" and I thought "well I can cut hair, with my eyes closed" and that was how I came up with the idea of a blindfolded hair cut.'
Hilda left the family run business breathing a sigh of relief that the long bob turned out just right.
The amount raised is due to be counted next week.
