A FASCINATING glimpse into the workings of a high level ministerial conference will be on offer at the next WestDEN meeting, to be held in Tavistock on Thursday June 12.

WestDEN director Oz Osborne will talk about the wheeling and dealing between nations which took place during the recent Environment for Europe Conference in Kiev, when government ministers and environmental organisations looked at how European countries can set common standards on issues like pollution, climate change and recycling.

The WestDEN meeting will also feature a workshop where people can discuss and register their concerns about the environment and long term quality of life in the district.

The workshop is part of WestDEN?s large-scale Action for the Future consultation, which aims to survey thousands of West Devon residents on their views of life and the environment in the area.

Local people are welcome to attend the meeting or can fill in a form at http://www.actionforthefuture.com">www.actionforthefuture.com

All completed forms will be entered into a draw to win a luxury hamper of local food.

Forms may also be picked up at the WestDEN offices in 5 Canal Road or contact: 01822 611487.

The meeting will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday June 12 at Tavistock Methodist Church Hall.
