RECENTLY, colleagues and I have walked along the Northlew to Okehampton road and been disgusted at the amount of rubbish dumped in the laybys; two old TV sets, carpets, car pieces and many polythene bags crammed full.
From Hilltown Cross to New Road junction we filled two carrier bags with bottles cans, cartons etc to take it back and dispose of it.
Why can't people who have to carry junk in a vehicle take it to the skip or dump? It makes the roadside look so untidy. Have they no pride in our lovely countryside?
