OKEHAMPTON Library is holding a summer reading challenge for children to take part in, to help encourage them to read more during the school holidays.

The aim of challenge, which is being run by Devon Libraries, is for children to read six books from the library throughout the summer.

When the children have read two books, they will receive a sheet of stickers and once they have collected three sheets, they have completed the task.

Children who complete the whole challenge will be invited to a special presentation to receive certificates and other goodies at the library.

The library is also holding some special craft events on the theme of Quest Seekers, where they will hold a family learning animation workshop.

The workshop will include 'digiblue' cameras, modelling and artwork and is aimed at children over eight years old and parents. The places on the workshop are limited and must be booked in advance.

The library is also holding a craft session on the theme of princesses, fairies and wizards and also another session on dragons.

Both events are aimed at five to ten year olds.

The sessions will be held on Monday, August 10 and Monday, August 24 from 10am to 11.15am.
