MARIE Curie Cancer Care is pleased to announce that it will be back again for the second year with the Dartmoor Challenge this October.

The circular route will begin in the village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor on October 12 and will see walkers learning about the legend of Jay's grave where they will hear the tale of Kitty Jay and the mystery mourner who ensures fresh flowers are always placed at her graveside.

Community fundraiser Samantha Surridge said: 'The challenge gives you the opportunity to explore areas of Dartmoor that are a bit more off the beaten track and feel that sense of achievement when you complete the challenge, not just for yourself but from supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care.'

The entry fee is £10 per person and all participants are asked to raise a minimum of £100, which will help provide Marie Curie nursing care for terminally ill patients to be cared for in the comfort of their own homes.
