WALKERS are being invited by the Dartmoor Preservation Society to walk the route of the Dartmoor Dash.
The Dartmoor Dash is a five-mile run, but the society will be doing it at a less frantic pace.
Starting from the main car park in Princetown, the route will take in Ivybridge Lane, South Hessary Tor and the hamlet of Peat Cot with its tiny Wesleyan Chapel.
The walk will then meet the Strane and Blackabrook rivers and Bachelor's Hall, part of Tyrwhitt's legacy to Princetown.
The route is likely to be wet underfoot so sensible footwear and clothing is advised.
The walk, taking place on February 12, will take roughly three hours and will start at the main car park in Princetown, behind the Visitor Centre at 10am. Map reference SX589 734.
