CHILDREN from across the area competed in the Okehampton Tag Rugby Festival recently.

Organised by South Tawton Primary teacher Nikki Hutchings, a total of 18 teams participated in the event. South Tawton Primary's three teams did the school proud, with the Leopards producing some excellent performances in the 'trophy' event, reaching the final where they were narrowly beaten by the Okehampton B team 8-6.

In the cup event, the Year 5 Tigers team made their way to the quarter finals before losing to Okehampton A. The Lions team won their group, and eventually the cup competition to earn their place to represent the Okehampton area at the West Devon Tag Rugby finals.

Their success means the school has won the trophy for five consecutive years.
