A GROUP of keen Dartmoor trekkers named Ten Tors Our Way! got on their walking boots and tackled ten tors in aid of the Southwest Domestic Violence and Abuse Service.

The 20 enthusiastic women from the Tavistock area raised £1,501.40 for the local charity, which offers support, advice and help to anyone in South and West Devon affected by domestic violence.

Event organiser and leader of the group, Liz Miall, said: 'The walk was blessed with great weather — blue skies and wall to wall sunshine which kept everyone on a high as we trekked across the moor and up all ten tors on our route.

'The atmosphere when we reached our tenth tor was fantastic, we were all exhilarated.

'The route was not for the faint hearted, taking in many of the higher tors including Great Mis Tor, Yes Tor and High Willhays.'
