SWIMMERS in Okehampton should be able to use Parklands without further service interruptions, after problems with the pool floor were fixed.

Pool users contacted the Times after swimming sessions had to be cancelled due to problems with the submersible floor, which allows the depth of the pool to be altered.

Lesley Muir, business manager at Parklands, said: 'Unfortunately the pool floor has suffered with technical faults on two occasions. This caused the pool to close completely on the first occasion, but we were able to operate a limited swimming timetable during the second spell, allowing some sessions to continue.

'Working in partnership with West Devon Borough Council the repairs were made as soon as possible, allowing the full pool timetable to resume.

'We apologise for any inconvenience this caused.'

The pool is managed by Leisure in the Community Ltd and Leisure Connections Ltd, working in partnership with the borough council.
