FOUR members of Tavistock Swimming Club retained the Mount Wise Relay Trophy, a competition they won for the first time in 2009.
Against tougher opposition than in previous years, the men's open team pulled out all the stops to defend their title. Michael Best led the team off and put in a personal best time, coming in just behind the swimmer from Dinnaton.
Matt Edwards swum a blistering leg also in a best time, which kept Tavistock in contention. The third leg of the relay was swum by Jason Butler, who turned the tables on Dinnaton with a strong swim to put Tavistock in first place before the final leg. Gareth Williams then repeated what he had done last year and finished the race by touching in first, with another strong swim. Dinnaton followed in second with Devonport A team in third.
