KELLY College Swimming Pool is taking part in Swimathon 2003 by holding three special swimming sessions which it hopes will raise more than £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Swimmers from West Devon will be able to take part in one of three sessions at Kelly College Swimming Pool between March 17 and 23.
The pool is also holding weekly training sessions from January to March for those getting ready to make a big splash at the fundraising event.
Participants can sign up for one of seven challenges:- individual 5,000m; individual 2,500m; relay, 5,000m for four people; endurance, individual 10,000m; fun, individual 1,500m; team, up to six people swimming 5,000m; and Simply Swim, for those who want to set their own challenge outside of the official Swimathon sessions.
It is hoped as many as 40,000 swimmers nationwide will take part in Butlins Swimathon 2003, which hopes to raise a total of more than £2-million.
Meadowlands Pool in Tavistock and Okehampton Swimming Pool are also holding Swimathon sessions during the week.
